Lloyd is a retired Episcopal priest who now
teaches religion courses at a local technical college. He was born and
raised in Louisiana and loves to cook gumbo and other Louisiana dishes.
He attended Louisiana State University, earning a B.S. and a Ph.D. in physics. After teaching at East Tennessee State University and doing research at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, he attended Nashotah House, an Episcopal seminary in southern Wisconsin. He served congregations in Nashville Tennessee, Knoxville Tennessee, and Columbia South Carolina.In Columbia, he was Canon Pastor at Trinity Cathedral and then Priest-in-Charge of Church of the Cross.

He is married and has seven grandchildren.
He is an avid amateur pianist, who loves playing Brahms and New Orleans
